It gives me immense pleasure to announce that Human Resource Development Department, Government of Sikkim has launched a web portal on Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), www.rusasikkim.com. After the successful implementation of Centrally sponsored scheme, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) which laid a strong foundation for primary and secondary education of the state, Department is implementing Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) for improving higher education.
Education is the backbone of every nation; therefore, it plays a crucial role in development of any state. This initiative is a step towards creating Sikkim as an educational hub of the country. This portal will significantly help in proper management and administration of the activities taken under RUSA.
Over the past few years, there has been an unprecedented expansion in the number of institutes imparting higher education to meet the ever growing demand of students under the visionary leadership of Shri. Pawan Chamling, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Govt. of Sikkim. In line with his vision to create Sikkim as an educational hub, where education is imparted to all at free of cost, his inspiration and continuous support has led us to take such praiseworthy initiatives for Higher Education. This web portal will ensure accountability, transparency, responsiveness, effectiveness and efficiency of the Department.
With this I would like to congratulate the whole team involved in the development of this portal and the project, with a hope that it would serve to fulfil the objectives of RUSA by enhancing access, equity and quality of Higher Education in the state.
